20 October 2023The Saudi Arabia Drug Track & Trace System (RSD), developed by Tiga Healthcare Technologies, achieved international recognition by winning the ‘Champion in eHealth’ Award at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2020, organized by the United Nations. The project received high evaluation scores from the WSIS Expert Group, highlighting its significant contributions to the healthcare IT landscape. As Tiga Healthcare Technologies, we are proud to share this achievement which underlines our leading role in Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation.
RSD ensures that all pharmaceuticals in Saudi Arabia are uniquely serialized at the box level and the movement of these boxes is tracked in real-time. By recording the entire history of each pharmaceutical, the system creates an end-to-end supply chain, preventing counterfeit drugs from entering the market. By connecting all manufacturers, warehouses, pharmacies and hospitals in a centralized system, RSD protects human health and prevents financial losses for patients, health authorities and other stakeholders.
